First step

Senko Handelsgesellschaft is founded in Hamm to supply Eastern European energy suppliers. Start with electrotechnical components, later expanded to include transformers, switchgear and transformer stations. The aim was to shorten delivery times and create a stable connection between Western European manufacturers and Eastern European customers – the basis for the later Rensys GmbH.

Poland branch

Establishment of a subsidiary in Poznań to tap into the Eastern European market for medium and low voltage technology. This presence enabled direct market access and strengthened the company’s position before it was sold to the manufacturer as part of an agreement in 2003.

EPC start

Expansion into an EPC provider for medium and high voltage technology. After the eastward expansion of the EU, manufacturers were able to deliver directly – Senko now offered complete substation solutions from planning to commissioning in order to remain competitive and offer customers a reliable energy supply from a single source.

Maximum voltage and service
Establishment of a service company in Poland with a 24/7 offering for grid operators. Entry into extra-high voltage technology up to 420 kV and sale of disconnectors. This enabled projects in Eastern Europe in the extra-high voltage range to be realised for the first time.
Teaching and grid integration of renewable energies

Lectureship at SRH Hamm (Grid Management – Electricity) with development of teaching materials, lectures, laboratory practicals, excursions and research programme on the integration of pumped storage power plants in coal mines. Founding of Rensys Management Consulting in Germany and Rensys Sp. z o.o. in Poland to advise international customers and develop grid access for wind farms, specialising in renewable energies and brand management under „Renewable Energy Systems“.

Offshore wind

Collaboration on grid connections for German offshore wind farms such as Borkum Riffgrund and Gode Wind with a capacity of over 1 GW. Focus on technical solutions, stakeholder management and cable routes in complex sea crossings.

Hydrogen studies

Analysing the use of offshore wind power for hydrogen production at sea, including costs, storage alternatives and direct gas grid feed-in. Collaboration on grid connections of German wind farms (e.g. Borkum Riffgrund, Gode Wind, >1 GW) focussing on technical solutions, stakeholder management and cable routes in complex sea crossings.

Renewable energies and medium-voltage solutions

Implementation of a 20 MW electrolysis project to produce green hydrogen from wind power for CO₂-neutral bus mobility and development of a distribution network in Poland for medium-voltage switchgear, with a focus on grid operators and EPCs for reliable energy supply.

Wind energy and system solutions

Market launch of an innovative wind measurement technology in Poland, including market development, customer presentations and trade fair appearances. Carrying out technical due diligence for several Polish wind farms. Product management of SCADA, WindFarm and medium-voltage systems for a German wind turbine manufacturer, including support for turbine options and power boost functions.

Global Services

Management of the introduction of a global control centre for wind turbines. Implementation with agile project setup, IoT integration and selection of suitable software solutions.

Energy projects

Conception and further development of services at the interface between the grid, energy generation and commercial services. Focus on product development and sales.

Charging infrastructure and digital networks

Planning of multi-MW charging stations for bus and car depots in Germany with grid integration for high power peaks. Training of engineers and teaching staff at a digital substation in Zambia, including theory and practical exercises on site.

Project management MS/NS

Overall responsibility for the energy supply of a sewage treatment plant, including budget management, team management and construction site coordination in challenging project conditions.

Rensys GmbH and international projects

Foundation of Rensys GmbH in Hamm with team development for growing customer projects. Establishment of Segrico South in Montenegro for service projects in Southern Europe for rapid scaling and quality assurance. Planning and negotiating the replacement of 220/10 kV to 380/10 kV transformers, including a concept for partial operation during the conversion.

Network construction Bavaria

Project management for the construction and modernisation of the 110/20 kV grid infrastructure in Bavaria – from planning to implementation and commissioning.

Grid and storage projects

Management of a 250 MW battery storage project including planning, coordination and risk management for grid integration; technical management of electrolysis projects with several hundred MW capacity from grid planning to commissioning; development and implementation of connection concepts for large generation parks such as Boldekow and Schadewohl.

380 kV extension

Project management for the expansion of a 380 kV switchgear. Coordination of all construction phases, stakeholder management and ensuring that time and budget targets are met.

Compact substation

Presentation of a compact, hybrid high-voltage switchgear for substations with limited space availability in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
